About The Gala
Cockenzie and Port Seton Community Gala is a much loved event, located in the picturesque setting of these two beautiful coastal towns.
Our Gala is a particularly special evet as we take to the open sea during the parade. We are extremely proud to be celebrating the 71st gala this year.
The Gala day traditionally takes place on a Saturday in May or June each year, this is largely dependent on the tides.
The festivities begin on Gala Eve with a funfair to mark the beginning of the Gala weekend. There is also a weeklong of children’s events that include football tournament, races and pet show.
We are lucky to be part of a close-knit community who we rely on heavily to support the Gala committee each year.
Gala day includes a vibrant parade throughout the village, a boat trip for some of the Royal court and concludes with a Crowning Ceremony where the Seton Queen is crowned.
This is an event not to be missed!

Organization & Fundraising
The Gala committee work all year round to organise and fundraise for Gala Day. We are fortunate to be supported by our lovely community.
Fundraising is vital to the succession of future Gala Days and we host a wide range of local events for the community to enjoy whilst raising much-needed funds. These include Easter Egg Hunts, children’s discos, adult discos, Clairvoyant nights and Golf tournaments.
We are extremely lucky to be given donations via several Community groups and are assisted greatly throughout the year by the assistance of the hub of the community, Port Seton Community Centre.
We appreciate all donations, no matter how small. All donations go towards keeping this much treasured, historical event in place for the local children.
We now have a Paypal donation button to make it even easier to donate!
